"We had a zig-zag crack appear in the brickwork beneath our kitchen window which was causing concern. I had my maintenance guy look at it and he said it was because there was no lintel above the window and the whole weight of the wall above was bearing down and causing the cracking. We would need to take the window out and have a new lintol inserted etc etc - quite a job and expensive. Having been a Quantity Surveyor and knowing a little about building construction, I doubted this. So I got a second opinion from County Contractors. They rubbished all this diagnosis and said it was ground settlement below and all that was needed was for the affected brickwork joints to be raked out, steel reinforcing bars to be inserted and then re-pointing. The job was done within 48 hours; neat, efficient and professionally done. How refreshing to find an 'honest' builder - watch out for 'rogue traders'! I thoroughly recommend County Contractors."
